Asking yourself these questions is very grounding and gets your mind to see the problem from different perspectives. It’s actually a cognitive behavioural therapy technique. CBT is a very popular type of talk therapy. It helps you identify unhelpful thoughts and patterns and behaviour and alter them to more effectively work toward your goal.⁠⠀

Basically, it can get you out of your emotional headspace and help you attack problems more rationally.⁠⠀

Think about the decision or problem and ask yourself:⁠⠀
⁠⠀
• What is the worst thing that could happen if I made this decision?⁠⠀
• What is the best thing that could happen if I made this decision?⁠⠀
• What is the most likely thing that will happen when I make this decision?⁠⠀
• If a friend was in the same situation and asked for your advice, what would you tell them?⁠⠀
